In one of my first posts about ADACA I noted that the game included many references to so-called ‘0451 games’, and that Errant Signal had put together a fantastic video on what that connection and that influence actually means. I also said that:
“there’s at least a few doors throughout the game that use the passcode
0451
”
The ADACA armory door is one of those doors.
Type 0451
into the armory door and you’ll get access to the Slag Cannon as well as some other nifty gear before you first venture into the Exclusion Zone. As far as I’m aware there’s not a clear way in the game to learn the code — you just have to know what design language the game is speaking.
It’s not too different in that way from the Deathloop achievement “Old Habits Die Hard”, which you can get for trying “0451” on one of that game’s many locked doors.1 When you get the sense you might be playing an immersive sim (or a game that’s winking at that lineage), it’s often worth giving that code a try. Best case, the door opens. Worst case, you might find an easter-egg left by the developer.
If you happen to purchase Deathloop with that link a portion of that purchase goes to me through the Humble Bundle Affiliate Program↩︎
